83 an hour The Wellesley Free Library (WFL) is seeking a team player who is flexible, fearless and fun for a part-time (16 hours/week) Library Assistant in the busy Circulation Department.
Duties include providing excellent customer service at the Main and Branch Libraries; providing positive solutions to patron issues; checking in and checking out a large volume of library materials; assisting patrons with self-check terminals, room reservation software and other technology; shelving materials; shelf-reading; filling items on a daily paging list and other related duties.
The successful candidate will have a positive and outgoing attitude; a desire to help people; strong conflict resolution and problem-solving skills; common sense; the ability to consistently work calmly, diplomatically and accurately, even in high pressure situations and the ability to adapt quickly and easily to new procedures and practices in a fast paced and continually evolving environment.
Retail experience is a plus and on the job training is provided.
The work schedule may include evenings, Saturdays, and one Sunday per month.
The requirements are a High School diploma or equivalent; working knowledge of automated systems; excellent interpersonal, oral communication and customer service skills; and six months of clerical work experience.
The hourly rate is $20.
83 and the position is not benefit eligible.
Shifts may include evening, weekend and weekday hours.
