Systems Analyst in the Data Solutions Group
Job Description:
We're looking for a Systems Analyst who specializes in data projects. You will analyze and understand the data in our data warehouses and obtain and transform business requirements into functional specifications that result in development of both ETL and Report program logic. Once the logic is developed, the candidate will test the results to ensure data is accurate, reliable, appropriate and complete.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to the following areas:
Analyze, review and interpret data in existing databases to support projects.
Flag and resolve data issues.
Solve problems by interpreting SQL stored procedures that update our databases, and by analyzing the data in our databases.
Perform gap and impact analysis.
Interview business users to gather requirements for reports, extracts, data, metadata, data quality and service levels.
Perform specifications and test plan walk through's with the business, and developers.
Take ownership and drive all assigned tasks to completion according to project plan.
Develop a deep and comprehensive understanding of our Group Benefits business, systems and customers.
Create well-written, clear, concise and above all accurate document artifacts including functional specifications, gap analysis documents, mapping documents process diagrams test plans and test scripts for the purposes of data warehouse construction, report development, verification etc.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
3 to 5 years of experience in IT as an Analyst.
Solid understanding of SQL, stored procedures and ad-hoc query development.
Comprehensive understanding of relational databases.
Ability to provide data requirements documents to Data Architects responsible for data modeling.
